Prince Oyster Prince Ranger - Ref 90220

The Tudor Oyster Prince ranger Ref 90220 looks like the Rolex 1016 except that the size is one size smaller. Price wise the Tudor Prince ranger is much cheaper making it a good value for money buy..

Graham

Nice watch!

Ulysse Nardin Chronograph

This is another lovely 1940-50s vintage chronograph..

Lecoultre

Men's Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox c. 1960s. This was one of the first wrist-watches to be produced that offered an alarm. Black dial with applied arabic hours, dauphin hands and centre seconds. The inner disc rotates the arrow marker for the alarm. Luminous material in the hands and at the hours. Original steel case with plexi glass is in very good condition. Automatic movement by JLC with crown at 4 o'clock for time and date adjustment. Crown at 2 o'clock to wind-up and set the alarm.

My love for vintage watches continue to deepen as I began to take out the many of my watches from the safe. As part of my streamlining exercise, I have began to let go some in ebay..

Rolex Red Submariner ref 1680

After months of waiting, my ordered Rolex submariner bracelet has finally arrived from Switzerland! Even though the costs of the bracelet is expensive, the positive aspect is that it has given the Rolex Submriner its "birth certificate" and paper of authenticity and records. Now, the watch serial nos, model nos is registered in the Rolex center system.

Quite glad that the watch is now complete! : )

Watches with special dials

Being a history and geography students in the past, my love for maps, cultures, countries and history has prompoted me to collect watches with maps or historical figures.
The watch on the left was found in Egypt when I was visiting my friend Hung Seng.

Saddam Watch

During the early 80s, Saddam was still considered to be a friendly forces.
The watch on the extreme right was a watch with the face of Saddam Hussien..
A historical significant watch....

Swatch Limited edition "tourbillon"

Happy 2009 everyone!

I am not a Swatch watch collector as the nos is too large to collect. Nevertheless, the only Swatch that I have collected is the limited edition Swatch "tourbillon" watch which will rotate every 30 mins. I was told that the concept for Swatch to produce a Tourbillon watch came about as a result of some watch manufacturers making remarks that Swatch is only capable of producing cheap plastic watch. To make a point that Swatch has the capability to produce "quality and fine watches for the connoisseur", Mr. Hayek commissioned the special project in very limited quantities. The is one being auctioned for charity for over US$10,000 (still cheap considering the new movement).

These watches were hardly sold in public as these were often "sold" to their top retailers when they hit their annual Swatch sales targets. I have managed to get one as the previous Brand Manager for Swatch Julie is my good friend.. : )
