Duplex pocket watch made for Qing Dynasty 大八件

During my business trip to Shamhhai, I have managed to catch up with my old contacts and was fortunate to be able to find a nice silver cased Duplex pocket jumping seconds watch made for the China Qing dynasty.
What is unusual of the pocket watch is the twin silver and gold coloured movements as most tended to be one Colour.

Elgin WW2 military watch

This is an original Elgin WW2 Military issued watch with original military marking on the case back which I have traded using my Chrome heart bracelet.

This US manufactured “Ordnance Dept” timepiece is typical of the format for military issued watches for the US armed forces. Elgin, Waltham, Hamilton and Bulova were the suppliers of the watches. Each manufacturer used different mechanical movements (including different number of jewels), black and white dials.

These are typically called "Garrison Watches" and were used by support troops and in non-combat roles. They do not "hack" and are sometimes seen in non-water resistant cases. Hamilton also produced a version using their 987 6/0 movement. Some said that This type of Ord. Dept. watches were also  issued to ground troops during WW2, whether it be Army or Marine troops. The sub-second white dial is a hallmark of these amazing military watches.

New Old stocks 1970s watches

Found a bunch of NOS watches...

Sandoz Duplex watch ... New Old Stock😊

I went for my usual watch hunting this weekend and came across an interesting NOS watch. I have seen a few interesting vintage mystery dials from Sandoz, but this unusual 70's "Duplex" is unique as it features double-sided hour and minute hands that alternate in length and color when rotating into the visible top portion of the dial. Looks real cool that I needed to trade it with my Spaceman watch, Royal watch and NOS Lanco digital watch. I hope JJ will love this watch when I give it to him soon...

Paul Smith also created a contemporary watch with this style of display. Day and month are displayed vertically in the lower obscured hemisphere. The 1970s era is really cool!

Posche Design

Ever since the brand was founded, Porsche Design timepieces have been characterised by their functional, minimalist appearance. This quest has led to timeless watches that allow perfect time-keeping, in keeping with the sports vocation of the Porsche brand.

Once again Porsche Design has set a new milestone in watchmaking: The Porsche Design P'6910 Indicator combines chronograph functions with a genuinely mechanical jumping digital display. Even at a quick glance the stop hours, minutes and seconds can be captured with absolute certainty up to a total stoppage time of 9:59 hours. This absolute innovation in the area of mechanical watches is made possible by the most complex commercial wristwatch movement in the world that does its work inside this extraordinary timepiece.
